The Book Next Door is my publishing venture. I had to do something after the AMEP Research Centre (NCELTR) at Macquarie University stopped publishing language learning materials. Other publishers I contacted said, ‘Sorry, but Australian beginner materials are too much of a niche market to make them viable.’ Of course, I was hoping to prove them wrong…
ESL Extras photocopiable materials for ESOL/EAL learners. You can find them in hard copy from bookshops and libraries, or as pdfs on my Payhip site, where you can download sample chapters and audio. There are now six reading book titles (as well as a free-to-download title), and two puzzle books.
ESL Book Club readers started life as e-books (still available on Amazon), but now with book club questions. Also available as library readers or as photocopiable pdfs on Payhip.
Tabletop English resources are interactive games and activities for beginners and pre-beginners.
Read about Australia books are full colour non-fiction elementary readers, on request from librarians.
I don’t publish other people’s work, but would love to be in touch with other ESL/EAL writers who are submitting to publishers, or considering self-publishing or e-publishing. There’s more about the process on my Info for writers page.
